History

Heather Mortuary & Chapel in Tucson, Arizona was established in 1988 by the Heather family. Prior to opening this funeral home, the Heather family had operated another funeral home for many years in Lordsburg, New Mexico. Harber Jack Heather and his son, Jack Heather, opened Heather Mortuary in 1988 on River Road before relocating to its current location on Columbus Blvd.

In December 1992, Heather Mortuary & Chapel became a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers. Harber Jack Heather passed away in Arizona in 1995 leaving behind a legacy of compassionate care in the community.

Heather Mortuary & Chapel merged with Desert Rose Cremation & Burial in April 2013, and is now known as Desert Rose Heather Cremation & Burial. Even though the funeral homes have changed over the years, our commitment has never changed as we evolve with the community. We're proud to serve the Tucson area and look forward to helping families celebrate their loved ones.
