Desert View Funeral Home in Victorville, California, was established in 1978 by William Truscott and Robert Hinze of the Mt. View Cemetery Corporation. Together, they procured land in Hesperia and Victorville, which they believed to be the area with the greatest potential for growth, turning nothing but sand and tumbleweeds into the site of today's beautiful Desert View Funeral Home and Desert View Memorial Park.
Over the years, our staff has maintained the beauty of the property and added many features to better serve Victorville.
Desert View Memorial Park cemetery
Desert View Memorial Park responds to the requests and needs of the community. The cemetery has a Veterans Lawn to honor veterans while the funeral home helps military families plan services that commemorate their sacrifices.
The memorial park also has a Garden of Remembrance—our cremation garden—for placement of cremated remains.
Finally, our Catholic Lawn was dedicated and blessed in 2004. With a focus on Catholic traditions, it is home to the Holy Family statue, Our Lady of Guadalupe statue and Sacred Heart statue. Future plans include adding a cremation garden to this section of the cemetery.
Families may also select the Whispering Waters Cremation Garden, which includes companion options, personalized granite pedestals and benches, and cremation boulders. Serene walkways—complemented by shade trees and beautiful water features—add to the peace and beauty of this area.
On-site crematory and cremation niches
Desert View Crematory was completed in 2003. It incorporates the newest technology and has a witness room. It also houses a permanent disposition area filled with beveled-glass niches that allow families to place photos and other items next to their loved ones' urns. Families whose loved ones rest here get a passkey, so they may visit anytime during normal cemetery hours.
Garden of Eternal Pet Memories pet cemetery
Desert View Memorial Park is home to the Garden of Eternal Pet Memories. Developed in 2009 to give people a place to memorialize their animal companions, the pet cemetery is our way of ensuring that furry friends are always remembered.
