    Jack A Messer

    Funeral Director

Jack "Anthony" Messer is a native of Haywood County and graduated from Tuscola High School in 1986. He attended Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, graduating with an associate degree in industrial management and spent a short time in retail management.

After relocating several times in the short space of a year and a half, Anthony discovered that retail management wasn’t for him. He then worked as a land surveyor for over 15 years in the North Carolina counties of Haywood and Jackson and the metropolitan area of Atlanta, Georgia.

Anthony found his calling to be a funeral director a little later in life than most. With the strong support of his family and the management at Garrett Funerals and Cremations, he went back to college and graduated from Fayetteville Technical Community College with a degree in funeral service. Anthony is licensed by the state of North Carolina as a funeral director and embalmer. He feels it is an honor to serve the members of this community during some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Married since the 1990s, Anthony and his wife have 2 and attend Calvary Road Baptist Church where Anthony is a Sunday school teacher and sings in the choir. He is a past master of Waynesville Masonic Lodge and is a volunteer with Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice.
