Gary Edward Loomis
February 4, 1965 – June 2, 2019
Gary Edward Loomis passed away at his home on Sunday, June 2, 2019. Gary was born February 4, 1965 in Ketchikan, Alaska to Analee (Myers) Loomis and Lawrence “Larry” Loomis. He then moved to Brownwood to help his dad care for his ailing mother, where he met and married Teresa Brandstetter in 2006 making Brownwood their home. There he continued to find ways to help those in need and promote good food growing techniques both in his community and abroad.

Gary is the best. I knew him for a few years working at Fred Meyer in Anchorage. We lived near and he was in my car pool. Which means i saw him 5 days a week. He was like a son to me. The kindest deepest yet quirkiest soul ever met. I thought he was an angel, literally. More than anything he wanted to find his true love and have a family. Family and people were everything to him. He made everyone feel like they mattered. Even me. He listened and reflected. He could talk about God and tropical gardening of bananas almost endlessly. A great soul. I'm in shock over his passing. Dear family - you are in my thoughts heart and prayers. May you find some comfort in this sorrow. May his memory be eternal.

We met Gary at Brownwood,SDA Church. They came to a VBS I believe in 2013. He was a dad who was very devoted to his children, his family. He would always have the church warmed for prayer meeting and then on sabbath. He usually would bring neighborhood children to sabbath school and church. He was a humble soul. He told a funny story about a dog ,we laughed hard. I can still see his face telling it,it was red. His passion was his family and gardening. We are in shock. We were not created to say good-bye.

Gary had met me through a mutual contact the week before I had a family emergency. He had walked by my home two minutes before I had hung up the phone from learning the horrible news. Gary asked if I needed any thing at all. He asked me to drive him home and then he handed me several hundred dollars to make my journey easier.
Gary gushed love for his wife and children! He truly showed Christ's agape love. I love Gary and God used him like an angel in my life. Teresa, Alia, and Paul I am incredibly sorry you are going through this and I extend my heart and fellowship to you. If you need any thing, any where, any time please call me 3252009547. Love, Faith
