Unique funeral services

It is our belief that funeral and memorial services should be just as unique and special as the life being celebrated. From photographs and music to video tributes and customized keepsakes, a personalized service can be as simple or elaborate as you desire. We take all of the things that a person loved, such as a treasured poem, lifelong passion or even a favorite color, and weave them together to create a memorial like no other.

Did he hit the links every weekend? Imagine a putting green in the chapel and a personalized golf ball for every guest. Was she an accomplished artist? We can transform our facility into an art gallery and hang her paintings on our walls.

No matter what you envision, our experienced team will go the extra mile to make it a reality.

History

Robert J. Murphy and his wife, Betty, opened Murphy Funeral Homes on Columbia Pike in Arlington, Virginia, in 1956. Together with their growing family of 8 children, they worked to ensure that the funeral home's quality and professional services were recognized within the Northern Virginia community. Responding to the needs of the community, they opened another location in 1965 in Falls Church at 1102 West Broad Street. In 1974, they relocated the Arlington location to a larger home at 4510 Wilson Boulevard.

Honoring our legacy

With more than 60 years of service, we continue to serve our Arlington families with the friendly, professional service that they have become accustomed to. As our Northern Virginia community has grown and evolved, we have responded to its changing needs.

At Murphy Funeral Homes, our caring and compassionate associates are guided by a quote from Mr. Murphy, our founder: "You don't make yourself known. You make yourself worthy of being known."
