Convenient funeral home locations
For your convenience, we operate 2 funeral homes in Oakland County. Our Union Lake Road location is south of St. Patrick Church. Our Highland location is on M-59, between Duck Lake Road and Ormond Road.
We know the importance of spending time with friends and family after the loss of a loved one and encourage families to gather before and after their service. To serve this need, both Elton Black and Son locations have spacious visitation rooms and dedicated areas to host catered funeral luncheons.
We honor veterans
At Elton Black and Son Funeral Home, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Three Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, our staff is knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans and their families. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran's memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.
Funeral and cremation options
Each family is different, so it only makes sense that funeral services should be as well. We recognize your individual needs and offer simple cremations, memorial options, traditional and contemporary services, and veteran and military funeral services. Our team at Elton Black and Son Funeral Home encourages families to share their ideas and traditions, so we can create a special tribute that provides comfort and respect.
In addition to planning customized services, Elton Black and Son Funeral Home also offers financial assistance to those who qualify. We remain dedicated to those who serve our area and country, and ensure they receive proper care.
Our Homeless Veterans Burial Program provides a dignified burial service at no charge for eligible homeless and indigent veterans, ensuring they receive the honors in death that their service in life merited.
Our Public Servants Program provides dignified and honorable burials, at no cost, for career and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel who fall in the line of duty.
We know the loss of a child is unimaginable, and the grief may feel overbearing to parents. For families experiencing a financial hardship during this tragic loss, our team will cover any service-related or merchandise costs the family may have associated with the death of an infant at no expense to the family.
The annual Donate Life Rose Parade Float is the heart of a national campaign inspiring people to save the lives of thousands of recipients and heal grieving families by registering to be organ, eye and tissue donors. Each year, the Dignity Memorial® network sponsors floragraphs—floral portraits made from organic materials featured on the float—that honor the legacies of deceased organ donors. These sponsorships give the honoree's family a special opportunity to honor their loved one and tell their donation story.
