The park includes more than 30 mausoleum buildings, ranging from longstanding structures to newer additions with polished marble fronts. Two elevated mausoleums include ramps for greater accessibility. Our air-conditioned Chapel of Peace provides another peaceful setting for families. 

Whether a family is making arrangements after a death or considering cemetery property in advance, our team can walk through the available choices, answer questions and help them understand the options at a comfortable pace.

Mausoleum and Memorial options

Every family remembers differently, which is why our cemetery offers several ways to create a lasting place of remembrance. In addition to traditional in-ground burial, families can choose above-ground mausoleum entombment and a variety of memorial styles. 

Our newer mausoleum areas featured polished marble fronts, while other sections reflect the cemetery’s long history and architectural character. The result is a property that has evolved through the decades while maintaining the peaceful, park-like atmosphere families have known for generations. 

Families who want relatives to remain together may also ask about columbarium estate options that can complement existing family burial property. Our team can explain which arrangements are currently available and help families consider what best reflects their wishes. 

Cremation and Memorialization in North Miami Beach

Families choosing cremation have many meaningful ways to create a permanent place to remember someone they love. Although Caballero Rivero Southern Memorial Park does not operate an on-site crematory, we work with crematory providers and offer several cemetery options for the placement and memorialization of cremated remains. 

Choices include in-ground cremation memorialization, columbarium estates and niches. Inside the Chapel of Peace, newly added glass-front niches give families an opportunity to create a highly personal memorial by displaying meaningful keepsakes alongside the urn. Newer mausoleum areas near the cemetery office also include marble-front niches. 

For families who already have relatives buried at the cemetery, columbarium estate options may make it possible to keep additional generations close together. Our team can explain available cremation memorialization options and help families select a permanent tribute that feels right for them. 

Cremation Niches and Family Niches

A permanent memorial can provide family and friends with a place to visit long after a cremation service has taken place. Some families prefer the privacy and personalization of a glass-front niche, while others choose a traditional marble-front niche, in-ground placement or an estate designed for multiple family members.

Our cemetery serves Catholic, Baptist, Pentecostal, Seventh-day Adventist, Jewish and Buddhist families, among others. Over the decades, the cemetery has also become the final resting place for members of many of the communities that have helped shape the Miami area. 

Members of our team speak English, Spanish, Creole and French, helping many families communicate in the language in which they feel more comfortable. We approach each family’s tradition with respect, listening carefully before helping them plan burial and memorial arrangements. 

Today, our relationship with the Haitian community is especially meaningful. Haitian families make up a significant part of the community we currently serve, and the cemetery recognizes Haitian Flag Day each may with an event that brings families together through flags, food and fellowship. 

A Place with a Unique History in North Miami Beach

Walking through Caballero Rivero Southern Memorial Park reveals pieces of local history that cannot be found in every cemetery. 

Shalom Memorial Gardens is a dedicated Jewish section within Caballero Rivero Southern Memorial Park, serving Jewish families from communities including Surfside, Aventura and surrounding areas.  It reflects the cemetery’s longstanding connection with South Florida’s Jewish community. 

Another property’s most distinctive area is Showmen’s Rest, a section associated with members of the circus and outdoor entertainment community. An elephant statue accompanied by lions on each side marks this memorable part of the cemetery, where spaces were established for members of the showmen’s organization. The figures have been restored and repainted, preserving a colorful part of the cemetery’s history. 

The cemetery is also the final resting place of actress Roxie Roker, known for her role as Helen Willis on The Jeffersons. Her presence is one example of the many individual stories woven into more than eight decades of history of these grounds. 

Community Involvement

A cemetery can be more than a place people visit after a loss. It can be a place where generations gather, traditions continue and a community remembers together. 

Caballero Rivero Southern Memorial Park maintains an active connection with North Miami Beach and surrounding communities. We participate in events with the North Miami Beach Police Department, including community programs such as domestic violence awareness walks and Winter Fest activities. Holiday participation has also included toy giveaways for local children. 

Within the cemetery, annual Mother’s Day and Father's Day observances give families another opportunity to remember loved ones together.
