History

Willwood Burial Park in Rockford, Illinois, has a long legacy of providing cemetery services for families looking for a final place of rest for themselves or their loved ones.

Our tradition begins

William Woodruff, a banker, established Willwood Burial Park in 1921 to offer cemetery options in Rockford, Illinois. His vision saw the growing town’s beautiful rolling hills as a new concept, where nature would play a large part in its design and beauty. Our Rockford cemetery's architectural grandeur gained widespread acclaim in magazines and newspapers throughout the country.

Growing to serve Rockford

In 2004, the addition of funeral and cremation services gave families the opportunity to care for all their cemetery and funeral needs in a single location. To better serve families, we are closely affiliated with 2 other locations in the Rockford area, including Sunset Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.

Today, Willwood Burial Park has grown to 80 acres of pristine grounds and a welcoming place of reflection. We look forward to offering future families and loved ones a beautiful and quiet place to honor the memory of loved ones.
