  • Sumner J Waring

    Managing Director

    A fifth generation funeral director serving southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Sumner “Jay” Waring, III grew up in the funeral profession. Jay works hard to ensure that each family is served with the highest levels of dignity, care, respect and discretion. "Our entire organization is committed to doing all we can to help families as they face  one of the more challenging times in their lives—the loss of a loved one."

    Jay graduated from Tabor Academy in 1987, Stetson University in 1991 and the New England Institute at Mt. Ida in 1992, where he received his degree in mortuary science. He received his Master of Business Administration from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2001. Jay and his wife, Kristin, have 3 daughters—Abby, Bizzy and Frances. He serves on the Board of Tabor Academy and BankFive and is an avid fundraiser for the American Liver Foundation, having completed ten Boston Marathons, as well as the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, having completed seven Pan-Mass challenges.

     

     

  • Kim Lariviere Perry

    Managing Director

    Kim graduated in 1985 from New Bedford High School and attended the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences. She is a licensed funeral director in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

    Kim is dedicated to her community and profession. Among her many contributions to the community: She recently served as chairwoman of the Massachusetts Board of Embalming and Funeral Directing and is a member of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association. She sits on the board of directors of the New Bedford Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts Distribution Committee, library associate for UMass Dartmouth, treasurer of St. Martin's Church of New Bedford Board of Trustees and member of the Finance and Executive Committee for the Home for Aged People in Fall River.

    A lifelong resident of New Bedford, Kim is married with a daughter.

  • Jeffrey Marc Davis

    General Manager

    Jeffrey M. Davis graduated in 1990 from B.M.C. Durfee High School, attended Massasoit Community College in Brockton and graduated from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston, Texas, earning an associate's degree in funeral service with honor and distinction. As he helps each family pay tribute to a loved one in a dignified and respectful manner, Jeff feels that "there is nothing more gratifying than to warrant the trust and confidence of a family."

    Jeff is a communicant of St. Thomas More Church in Somerset, member of the Durfee Hilltopper Athletic Foundation and secretary of the Fall River Funeral Directors Association. He volunteered for several years at Somerset Berkley High School as a baseball coach and was assistant head baseball coach at B.M.C. Durfee High School. At Massasoit Community College Jeff holds the record for most wins in the school's history and received all-conference and all-American honors while winning the 1993 NJCAA Division II National Championship. Jeff is a member of both Durfee and Massasoit's Athletic Halls of Fame and in 1993 was drafted by the Texas Rangers. In 1995 he was named Texas Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year and in 1996 became a part of the 40-man major league roster. He retired in 1998 due to shoulder injuries.

    Born in Fall River, Jeff and his wife live in Somerset with their three daughters.

  • Erica Ann DeNinno

    General Manager

    Erica (Sheridan) DeNinno, proudly joined Dignity Memorial in 2003. A graduate of LaSalle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island, class of 1999, she began schooling at New England Institute at Mount Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Funeral Home Management. Erica is dedicated to serving families who trust their loved ones into our care and has a strong desire to help people. She enjoys working with families to personalize services to make every service unique.

  • Bette Ann Dunn

    General Manager

    Bette has been serving the South Coast area as part of the Dignity Memorial® team for over a decade. A graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1985, Bette received a Bachelor of Science in 1990 from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and graduated from New England Institute at Mount Ida in Newton with an associate degree in funeral service in 1998. In 1999 Bette began her apprenticeship and became a licensed funeral director in 2001.

    Being a member of the Fairhaven Rotary Club, Bette carries the motto of "service above self" in serving the needs of families who have placed their confidence in her during one of the most difficult times of their lives.

    Born and raised in New Bedford, Bette resides in Mattapoisett with her husband.

  • Curtis B Moraes

    General Manager

    A lifelong resident of New Bedford, Massachusetts, Curtis earned a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Master of Science in management technology as well as a funeral service degree in the 1980s.

    Curt began as an apprentice at New Bedford’s Donaghy Funeral Home in 1981 before pursuing a career with Weight Watchers in 1986. He served in various sales roles and became the New England regional manager before deciding to return to funeral service in 2009 following the death of his parents.

    Curt is a Eucharistic Minister and lector at St. Mary's Church. He is a current member of the Acushnet Lions Club and a licensed insurance producer in Massachusetts. He is a past parish council member at St. Mary's, past volunteer at the St. Lawrence Food Pantry, past board member for the March of Dimes and has raised funds for the American Heart Association, Boston Food Bank and the American Cancer Society.

    A lover of animals, Curt enjoys gardening, swimming, walking and spending time with family and friends. He married his college sweetheart in 1983 and they have 2 children.
