Honoring Military Families and Veterans

Members of military folding US flag at memorialOur community has a strong and meaningful connection to military service and we are honored to care for one of the largest veteran communities laid to rest in our cemetery.

We bring extensive experience in crafting memorials for veterans and active-duty personnel from every branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. We are proud to participate in programs like Wreaths Across America, where members of the community come together each year to honor those who served.

Peaceful Cemetery Setting

Our property is home to Sea Lawn Memorial Park, a beautiful cemetery that offers families many options for reflection and remembrance. Families can choose from traditional burial plots, cremation plots, custom mausoleums, cremation niches and more.

The History of Andrews Mortuary Hampstead Chapel

Andrews Mortuary traces its beginnings to 1850, when it operated as Woolvin Cabinetmakers and Undertakers. It remained under the Woolvin family name for decades, until Leon P. Andrews assumed ownership in 1925.

In 1934, a pivotal milestone came when Andrews opened a new, modern facility—the business's first purpose built funeral home. This expansion signaled a shift from a traditional establishment to a more contemporary operation.

In 1960, Leon’s son, Richard C. Andrews, continued this momentum by relocating the mortuary to its current home on Market Street.

In 1987, Richard opened the Valley Chapel location, which provided greater convenience to residents of south Wilmington.

In 1995, the Hampstead location was built. This expansion reinforced our long-term commitment to meeting families where they are and honoring lives with respect.
