About

Working together, Kraeer Funeral Home and Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens are dedicated to memorializing and celebrating the lives of those in the Pompano Beach community with compassion, respect, honesty and integrity. We understand that losing a loved one is a difficult time and strive to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We are here every step of the way.

Located near the canals of the Intracoastal Waterway, Kraeer Funeral Home and Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens are just a short distance from I-95. In Pompano Beach, stunning beaches stretch on forever, where Native Americans once lived and Spanish explorers arrived to seek treasure. At the heart of this exuberant city rich with history and beauty is the tranquil oasis that is now Kraeer Funeral Home and Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

An inclusive funeral home

Within our funeral home, we have 2 chapels. The Pompano Room seats 100 people and has round tables and chairs for a contemporary, family-style service. The smaller Hibiscus Room includes tables and chairs for 35 people. We provide on-site catering services in a reception room that seats 75-100 guests.

We celebrate life

Reception room at Forest Lawn Funeral HomeOur funeral professionals are here to help families create celebrations that are as unique as the people for whom they exist. From a traditional religious-based service to a highly personalized contemporary gathering, we at Kraeer Funeral Home are happy to deliver.

Whether you want a basic cremation with cremated remains scattered in a personally meaningful place, a graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens or elsewhere, or a modern celebration of life with live music, favorite foods and a send-off that expresses the passions of your loved one, we can make it happen. From garden parties to golf-themed events, bagpipes to banjos, cupcakes to crab cakes, we make sure that your wishes or the wishes of your loved one are fulfilled.

Cremation services

Kraeer Funeral Home does not have an on-site crematory, but we can easily arrange a cremation.

Not everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and the different memorial and burial options. From a direct cremation without a service or a witness to a full funeral service before or after the cremation and more, we help you understand this increasingly common choice. If desired, cremated remains may be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens or the cemetery of your choice.

We welcome all cultures, faiths and religions at Forest Lawn and have sections reserved for those of the Jewish and Greek faiths. The dedicated Jewish section of our cemetery is called Mount Hebron Memorial Gardens. The Garden of Resurrection is reserved for Greek faiths. The cemetery grounds also includes a military garden—Veterans Garden of Honor—reserved for members of the military.

Burial options

Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens offers a variety of burial options: traditional in-ground burial, lawn crypts and family estates. For those who choose cremation, there is a scattering garden, as well as a number of other cremation memorialization options.

We Honor Veterans level 2 badgeWe honor veterans

At Kraeer Funeral Home & Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Two Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, our staff is knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans and their families. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran's memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one. We are proud to serve our nation’s military.

Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens participates in the Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Burial Program, a cooperative effort with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans’ advocates and veterans’ organizations. Through the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, homeless and indigent veterans who have no family to claim them are identified and provided with a proper military burial.

Every year, we host an event to show appreciation for veterans and first responders the weekend before Veterans Day. In addition, we support Wreaths Across America, a coordinated effort between Arlington National Cemetery and more than 1,200 additional cemeteries to honor veterans.

Community involvement

Kraeer Funeral Home and Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens are vital parts of the Pompano Beach community, and we invite the public to join us at the funeral home and cemetery periodically throughout the year. We host annual Mother’s and Father’s Day brunches as well as a Holiday Remembrance in December.

Lean on us

We are proud to offer exceptional funeral services for Pompano Beach families who are planning ahead or who have an immediate need. Please call us when you need us.

History

Mausoleum estate under pavilion at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens was established in 1960 to serve the community of Pompano Beach and the surrounding areas. The 1st gardens established in the cemetery were the Palm Gardens, which run along the edge of Copans Road. The 1st mausoleum built on the property was the Main Mausoleum, which is still our largest mausoleum to this day. The funeral home, Forest Lawn Funeral Home, was added in 1970.

Today, both the funeral home and cemetery are members of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
