Inspired by your stories
Let’s start with a story. Paint us a picture of a personality—the passions, pursuits and zests of life—and we will create a fitting tribute to be remembered by all who attend. With your ideas and our professional funeral planning experience, we can fulfill almost any final wish. We can customize each ceremony to pay meaningful tribute to each distinct personality. Whether it's a gridiron theme for the biggest football fan or an event decorated with sand and seashells for the person who loved the beach, our funeral home team can help honor a loved one's essence in memorable fashion.
Each detail handled with care
Our interfaith chapel welcomes celebrants of every cultural background with New England hospitality. Whether you choose a traditional religious ceremony or an upbeat celebration of life, count on us to guide you through details such as music selection and decor. Those who choose cremation may host a viewing beforehand or a memorial service. We offer military funerals, including military honors, for those who served our country.

A century of service in the funeral industry
Community leader Leo P. Gallagher Sr. established Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home in Stamford, Connecticut, in 1928. In 1953, Leo Jr. joined his father to continue the family tradition of excellence in funeral service. The firm was located on Suburban Avenue for 52 years until a tragic fire forced a relocation to a custom-designed facility. Our main entrance arch features a beautiful stained glass window—the only salvageable piece from the original location.
In 2016, we were honored to accept the 2016 Pursuit of Excellence Award from the National Funeral Directors Association, recognizing excellence in service. This distinction is bestowed on less than 1% of all funeral homes nationally. Today, we specialize in creating tailored memorial services to be treasured by all who attend.
We cherish the community we serve and invite you to join us for our upcoming events.
