We know that losing a loved one is an emotional and challenging experience, and our promise at Radney-Smith Funeral Home is to create personalized funeral or memorial services and to support families before, during and after the service. By devoting ourselves to providing utmost care and attention at the time of need, guiding families through the grieving and healing process, and sharing the benefits of pre-planning, we've created lasting relationships and earned the trust of the families we serve.

A welcoming Sylacauga funeral home

Located on North Elm Avenue, at the corner of 4th Street, Radney-Smith is a full-service funeral home convenient to all of Sylacauga's cemeteries. Our red brick building is spacious and comfortable. It includes a traditional chapel that seats up to 225 guests and a coffee lounge for refreshments. The attention to detail that defines our service is evident throughout our spaces, which reflect a proud Southern tradition. There is also plenty of parking, and all entrances to the building are handicap accessible.

Funeral services and cremation options

Radney-Smith Funeral Home serves people from all walks of life and all faiths. With a wide range of service packages, we want to meet any family's situation or budget. Options include but are not limited to:

  • Traditional funerals
  • Traditional graveside services
  • Celebration of life services
  • Cremation memorials
  • Immediate burials
  • Military funeral honors

When you first meet with a Radney-Smith funeral director—at the funeral home or your own home—we'll ask questions about your loved one: what he liked to do, what she cherished, how he thought about the world, how she liked to spend time. From there, we create a service that speaks to the unique life of your loved one, whether that's a traditional religious funeral or a contemporary and upbeat celebration of life. You can inspire us with a memory of your loved one, a hobby that grew into a passion, a favorite music genre or a signature style, and we will work to gracefully incorporate as many personal elements as you would like into the service. We're here to help tell the special story of your loved one's life.

From scrapbooking to sailboats, guitars to golf balls, prize-winning roses to prize-winning roadsters, we take the things that mattered to that special person and weave them together to create a singular, heartfelt memorial.

We'll also help you write an obituary, create a multimedia tribute video for the service and assist you in choosing music. Chapel services are recorded and the video can be given to your family to remember and share.

If you'd like a police escort from the funeral home to the cemetery, we can arrange that as well.

Planning ahead

At Radney-Smith Funeral Home, we also recognize that funeral arrangements and associated expenses can be overwhelming. In addition to assisting during a time of immediate need, our funeral directors specialize in working with families to plan ahead. By preparing in advance, you provide a sense of relief, peace of mind and comfort for your loved ones while ensuring your wishes are met and your budget is maintained. A complimentary planning guide comes with no obligation.

As part of the Dignity Memorial® network, we offer a selection of unmatched services. They include the following and much more:
