Charles Fontleroy

Charles Fletcher Fontleroy, 69, of Davenport, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Libertyville, IL. Private services will be held at Runge Mortuary. His final resting place will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Charles was born on May 16, 1957, in Danville, IL. He was the loving son of George Sr. Spencer and Savannah (Hooser) Fontleroy. He married Shirley Wilson in 1999 in Davenport. Charles worked for Firestone Company in Davenport for over 30 years. He also did private maintenance for Dr. Wallace for several years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing dominos, fishing, barbecuing and listening to music, especially Marvin Gaye and BB King, but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He attended Vineyard Church in Davenport.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley Wilson, Davenport, son, Jason Shaw, Rantoul, IL, stepchildren: Ashley Wilson, Bettendorf, Teneisha Parrow, Chicago, Leevrontrell Parrow, Davenport and Let’e Parrow, Davenport; nine grandchildren; siblings: Cheryl Ann Fontleroy and Lloyd Fontleroy, both of Portland, OR.

His parents, son, Charles Jr., sister, Bonnie Dee Murray and brothers: George Spencer Jr., David and Kim Fontleroy preceded him in death.
