Suzanne Bacon
September 5, 1928 – January 30, 2011
Suzanne Bacon, 82, most recently of Lakewood, NJ, passed away Sunday at Laurelton Village Care Center in Brick, NJ. Born in Plainfield, NJ, she spent most of her life in Westfield, NJ before moving to Sea Girt, NJ in 1973. After living in Sea Girt for over 25 years, she moved to Leisure Village in Lakewood, NJ 10 years ago.
Suzanne worked for 25 years at Jersey Shore Medical Center, starting in 1975 as a Secretary in the Mental Health Department and later retiring as the Personal Assistant to the Medical Director of the hospital. Her lifelong passion was singing.
She is pre-deceased by her daughter Elizabeth Jane Bacon in 1983, her parents Samuel Alfred Saunders and Amelia Bastable, sister Jane Myers, brother Clason Saunders, and sister Amelia Smith. She is survived by her daughter Bobbie-Sue Bacon, son Jon B. Bacon and his wife Nancy, son Charles S. Bacon, son R. Clason Bacon, 5 grandchildren, and 10 nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10am at St. Uriel’s Episcopal Church, 219 Philadelphia Blvd. Sea Girt, NJ. Interment will follow at Atlantic View Cemetery in Manasquan, NJ.

I have very fond memories of working in the Mental Health Center with Sue and together we shared many fun lunches! She was a lovely person and I remember her passion for singing opera with a company at the Paramount Theater. May she rest in peace and reunite with her beloved, Betsy.

Mrs. Bacon made a difference; she was a good example & she will be missed. Thank God for her and her joy-filled reunion with her daughter Betsy. They have both left blessings in this world.

Mrs.Bacon was a great mom.Very brave and kind.I will miss her being here,but I am glad that she will be back with her girl.
