Going over to Aunt Peggy’s house when I was younger was one of my favorite things to do! One time we went on a nature walk in the “woods” next to her house. She pointed out the names of all the trees and I was so impressed. My 12 year old self thought she was the smartest lady around! She had lots of plants. Some were her mom’s (Grandma Ruby) that she gave to my mom that I now have cuttings of. Each time I water the plants, I think of all three of these wonderful ladies.
Aunt Peggy always made me feel welcome. I love how she drank Pepsi and told stories. Although I haven’t seen her in years, she’ll always hold a place in my heart.

I am so enjoying the pictures! I don’t have any so these are very special.

When we were all growing up on Carmel Road I remember how much Peg cared for my brother, Harry. He was slow to respond but eventually the love blossomed. She often asked me about what he was doing, did I have any pictures of him, did he mention her, etc., etc. I felt very important to be the “spy”.
Their life together must have been filled with so much love. I only regret that with us being so many miles apart we rarely saw each other. Thank goodness for the telephone- at least there were some heartwarming conversations.
I am so happy that Peg’s last days were spent with loving family and revisiting “home”.
Love to all who cared so much!
