The family is supporting Jay’s wishes of no services. He didn’t want to put that extra burden on his wife and daughter.
Jay was born in North Dakota to Stan and Caryl Simons in 1957. He went to Drayton Public School. He married Tonja R. Bond on November 7, 2014 in Granbury, Texas. He worked as a used car sales manager for Buz Post for several years. He also worked for Van Griffith Kia for about 14 years as a Car Sales Associate. He loved to sale cars, talk cars, anything about cars. He said, “I would do my job for free because I love it so much. I work because I love what I do and others work a job they hate. If they don’t like their job, why are they working there?” He was pretty good about just about anything, golf, bowling and playing some pool.
He has received over 90 awards, trophies, pins, plaques, etc. over the years. All in the name of cars. Once he became ill and leaving a job he loved so dearly, became tough on him. He so wanted to go back. He would say, “I’m going to get back to that one day.”
Jay is preceded in death by his parents Stan and Caryl Simons. One brother, John Simons and a step son Keenan Prachyl.
Jay is survived by his wife, Tonja R. Bond-Simons and his daughter J’Renee Simons both of Arlington, Texas. His sister Sue Colville and her husband Bob of Arizona. His brother Steve Simons and wife Evelyn of North Dakota. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, etc.
Donations can be sent to Van Griffith Kia-Granbury, Texas in support of his family along with any cards, letters, flowers, etc.
