

Born January 4, 1949 in Rockford, IL to John (Jack) R Muraski, Jr. and Catherine (Katie) M Muraski (neé Capriola) who preceded him in death. He grew up in Rockford, IL area, graduating from Boylan Catholic High School, moving to attend college in Los Angeles.
Dedicated to higher education, he completed four Masters degrees, three from Loyola Marymount University of Los Angeles and a double doctorate in Special Education and School Administration from the University of Southern California. After a 30 year career in education as a teacher, administrator, and consultant, he transitioned to a career in financial planning earning MSFS, CLU, ChFC designations.
A loving husband and father John is survived by his devoted wife of more than 56 years, Rita (neé Delia) of Marana, AZ, and their four children: son Dr. John Muraski and daughter-in-law Bridget Muraski (neé Guiltner) of Napa, CA; daughter Jennifer Miller and son-in-law Michael of Cincinnati, OH; Linda Naerheim and son-in-law Tor of Bend, OR, Christina Johansen and son-in-law Gordon also of Bend, OR, and former daughter-in-law Tina Acker (neé Cianflone) of Yuma, AZ. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his sister Mary Cynthia (Cindi) Solen and her husband Greg of Marana. AZ.
A private service was held at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church on Friday May 15, 2026. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St Christopher’s Building Fund (https://osvhub.com/stchristophermarana/giving/funds/capital-improvement-building-fund) or the seminarians of the Institute of Christ the King (https://institute-christ-king.org/donations) in his name.
