Wayne Joseph Savoy Sr. gained his angel wings on June 13, 2026, at the age of 61. He was born in New Orleans on January 22, 1965, to Donald and Patricia Savoy.
Wayne spent his younger years growing up in Violet, Louisiana, at Francis Place alongside his siblings, Donald and Cynthia. He often spoke fondly of his childhood and the wonderful neighborhood where he was raised, cherishing the memories and friendships he made there.
In his early twenties, Wayne and his ex-wife Joanie built a home together in lower St. Bernard Parish, where they raised their two children, Wayne Jr. and Kristine. Later in life, Wayne moved to Carriere, Mississippi, where he was blessed with one of his greatest joys—being a Papa to his three beautiful grandchildren, Madyson, Wayne III, and Adrian Jr. He loved sharing stories about them and proudly showing their pictures to anyone he met.
Wayne was gifted with a God-given talent for carpentry. His craftsmanship was truly remarkable, and he took great pride in creating beautiful works that reflected his skill and workmanship . He was blessed to own and operate his construction business, Southern Customs, for more than 20 years, allowing him to share his talent with countless families and clients throughout the community.
Wayne was also known for his love of cooking, especially his famous gumbo, which family and friends always looked forward to enjoying. In his spare time, he loved fishing and spending time with those he loved most.
Wayne's infectious laugh, warm smile, and generous spirit touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in our hearts forever.
