My Jakey, Jakeypoo , baby   11 years  4 months and 28 days.  I’m sorry I’m selfish  because that not enough time . I can’t believe that you are gone .  The boys and the dogs miss you too. munchkin! I can only imagine how many games you’re going to show us when we all see each other again. I still remember pretending to understand your NHL game that you explained to me three times... I guess I need to come clean and tell you that to this day I have no idea how hockey works. But it’s okay, I learned how to play Among Us for you, so save a spot for me in the next game. You were so many wonderful things Jakey, but above all, you were so thoughtful. I'll never forget how you'd always save a plate for me from dinner when I'd drive down straight from work or how you'd pause Mortal Kombat mid-game to teach me my characters' special moves so I'd have an actual chance at winning. I can't even count how many times you offered me one of your snacks or first turn in our games. I can't imagine life without you and I don't want to. I'll have a hole in my heart forever, Jakey Pie.

Jakey, you’ll forever be the sweetest, most mischievous, little cousin and I count myself so lucky to have gotten to listen to your jokes, and fight for the spot of favorite cousin. Even though these last few years must have been so hard for you, you always brought your humor and your smile with you wherever you went. I remember how much you loved to get together on zoom with friends and play among us together. We had so much fun. Sometimes you’d put this extra creepy mask on your character just to tease me, because you knew how much it gave me the creeps. You loved to tease but always take it off before the game started because you could never hide what a sweet heart you were. And you loved being the imposter, you were so good at it. One game you nearly went the whole night without getting picked as imposter but you were such a good sport about it. You just wanted everyone to have fun. No matter what, you always cared about everyone around you. I love you so much, and I’ll miss your massive heart and your sly jokes. You’re truly one of a kind and you’ll be missed by everyone who was blessed to meet you. 

Oh Jakey how you are missed. Tough you were but also a softy inside. You loved to play  jokes on me, and act like you didn’t care, but you always came around with
“ I’m just kidding”, your cheek, even if you cleaned it after I kissed you, or that big infectious smile you had.  I’ll never forget the last time you slept over and I was helping you with something and you apologized for needing help. I would give anything to be able to help you again. And to see you give your mom one more hug and kiss.  I know you are with your mom, dad, Logan, and Hunter. You promised mom you would take care of them; show her you still can. Remind her everyday you are still with them. I love you Jakey and can’t wait to see you again. Save a place for me. Tia Argelia forever..

I will never understand why God chose to take you away so soon. Your infectious laughter, sarcasm, with wit beyond your years is what I will remember most. You were your mommy’s rock, Hunter and Logan’s favorite brother and a nephew like no other. Your dance videos I could watch over and over. The jokes and unexpected sarcastic comments would always make me laugh. I would give anything just to have had more time with you. We will forever remember and mourn you. The hole you left in our hearts will remain there ALWAYS. Love you Jake.

During a difficult time in my life, I was asked to do something for a young man in need, and without a second thought I dressed up as Batman and went to go visit a kid named Jake. I had no idea, that Jake would end up being my hero instead. After meeting Jake, a few months later I met his aunt, who would later become my wife. Thanks to Jake, I went from having lost everything to gaining more than I lost, and became part of his amazing family. Jake was both warrior and comedian, he was quick witted, and the bravest person I have ever met. The entire time I knew Jake he was battling for his life, but you would never know it. He could roast you, make everyone laugh with his savage honesty, and he could lift you up when you were down, always defending the people he cared about. Jake, you are my angel, it was an honor having known you, and this world is a darker place without your bright shining personality.  I love you buddy, until we meet again.

During a classroom activity I asked each student to chose a word that described them. Jake picked the word “grateful “ and I truly believe that is how he lived his life! Jake’s ready smile and quick wit will always be remembered. May God keep him safe in His care and give his family strength.


My muffin, my little comedian. The only person who could ever keep me on my toes. So attentive and perceptive and caring. No one will ever roast me like you or even get away with it. I will miss you every single day. Our lives will never be the same. No one can fill the void of your absence. Who will snitch on me to Rob now? I love you papi. Forever and ever and ever. I miss you and I wish I could’ve done more for you. 

Tia will wear a trash bag. I mean, Red Sox jersey just for you. With your name. I love you so much. Thank you for picking me to be your Tia. 

El Goofy, Big Papi, Goober 2. You live on in our hearts and in our souls.  Can’t wait to meet you at the gates of heaven. Take good care of my mom and dad. Love you Papi, I’ll make you the chicken you like when I get there. 

Jake was funny thoughtful, a kind soul who brought incredible joy to our family,  We will miss him terribly, but we will carry him forever in our thoughts and memories.
